In a developing situation an optometrist is still refusing to give his kidnappers their pupillary distance measurements despite being held against his will for 70 straight hours.
The kidnapper’s demands have been simple – they just want their PD. At this stage, Dr Chad Chadwick of Chad’s Solid Eyes is refusing to give it to them out of the principle that he knows they will use this information to buy glasses online.

The hostage takers have attempted various torture methods including making Dr Chadwick watch YouTube clips of people talking about how much they like Hubble contact lenses and even telling him that they heard his wife had been sleeping with a local ophthalmologist. However, Dr Chadwick has been unrelenting in his refusal to provide a PD measurement.
Dr Chadwick’s family have given him their full support. Chad Chadwick Jnr told our reporters
“Yeah, to be honest Dad sat us down a few years ago and told us that at some point it was likely he would be held captive by kidnappers who wanted their PD measurement and that it was really important to him that we didn’t cave in. So yeah, I guess we’re going to ride this one out as long as it takes”.
