A booking error today saw an ophthalmic equipment supplier accidentally set up and exhibit at the world’s largest adult entertainment exhibition, Sexpo.
Bodily Instruments is a relatively new medical supplier specialising in ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. Founder, Richard Spanks had spent months preparing for their first eye care exhibition, only to find that his son Rod Spanks had made a costly error when booking the floorspace.

Richard Spanks told our reporters “At first, when all the lights went out and naked models started dancing in the aisles to Salt N Peppa songs I thought, wow, this industry is even more out there than I had heard.”
However, as exciting as the exhibition seemed, it wasn’t long before Spanks realised that a terrible mistake had been made. “I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what it was that seemed unusual. It might have been the pole dancing on stage, or maybe the jelly wrestling competition but I soon thought to myself, hang on, something doesn’t quite add up.”
Spanks’ fears that his costly investment would cripple his company were soon alleviated however, as before too long he started to rack up some serious sales.
“We ended up selling quite a few units actually. Believe it or not, the place was full of optometrists and ophthalmologists anyway. The chair and stands were popular across the board, even to people who aren’t eye care practitioners. We’ve booked an even bigger space next year.”
