“Bro, hit me five!” is the shout every other staff member and patient at Chad’s Solid Eyes cringes when they hear. It is the calling card of resident Optical Dispenser and son of the owners, Chad Jnr.
For around 30 years, Chad’s Solid Eyes has provided exceptional independent eye care to their small town of 10,000 residents. Optometrist Chadwick Stallman Snr founded the boutique optical outlet in 1990, and following 9 years of funding his son’s fruitless college lifestyle has recently employed Chad Jnr as an optical dispenser.

Chad Jnr’s lack of punctuality and complete absence of optical knowledge would usually be enough to prohibit him from employment in the eyecare industry, however it is his bro-like insistence of high-fiving every patient with a PD of 69 that really has other staff annoyed.
“The first time it was kind of funny” said coworker Mitch Smithson, “but it got old pretty quickly. I just wish he’d do some work and stop all this bro stuff. I must have high-fived him 6 times today already”.
Chad’s mother, and practice manager, Marion just sees it as harmless fun. “I don’t know what he gets so excited about when it comes to that PD. It must be his lucky number or something. He’s a good boy and really he’s just becoming more and more like his father every day. Actually that’s them high-fiving over there now. Chad Snr just had a patient with Progressive Outer Retinal Necrosis. He always makes a point of telling Chad Jnr whenever he has one of those”.
