A local optometrist, who also owns an Air BnB, has tripled her profits by implementing a $300 cleaning fee at the end of the exam.
“It’s brilliant. There’s simply no way they can meet my laborious demands around tidying up. It’s the perfect business model.”
Local patients are not so impressed however.
“I have to clean up the paper from the fluorescein strip myself? Mop the saline? Even then there’s still a $200 cleaning fee?! What the heck is this?”
Irrespective of the fallout, Dr Tina Malone is laughing all the way to the bank.
“The future of optometry is illegitimate fees and charges, mark my words.”
