With the last exhausted ophthalmology resident finally asleep, consultants have begun the annual tradition of hiding easter eggs as a special surprise for their trainees.
Dr Frank Lowan explained the annual tradition to our reporters “Every year our tired residents pass out and we quickly stuff easter eggs into as many posterior chambers as we can. The look on their faces when they are mid-way through a vitrectomy and chocolate starts spilling out the ports is priceless.”
“These resident doctors work long hours, so the least we can do is hide some chocolate into the vitreous of tomorrow’s cases to bring a smile to their faces”
