An embarrassed Australian optometrist today has had to put yet another phone call in to a colleague in New Zealand to ask the favour of an oral anti-viral prescription for one of his patients.
The Australian optometrist, who just wanted to treat his patient safely and effectively, begrudgingly increased his favour tab, whilst also giving further evidence to the notion of Australian backwardness compared to their sophisticated Kiwi cousins.
“Yeah nah it’s bullshit. But sometimes you’ve just gotta put your tail between your legs and put a cooey into your cobba across the ditch, if you catch me drift big-rig?”
The New Zealand optometrist, who is yet to kill anyone by prescribing a safe and effective oral medication, was happy to oblige.
“I’m always happy to help people trying to provide eyecare in 3rd world countries like Australia. I just wish he’d stop calling me the C word.”
