In a major development in the use of artificial intelligence in medicine, a new OCT software update will now predict the likelihood that a patient is related to Nicolas Cage.
Researchers from the Coppola School of Medicine in Bernalda Italy spent 8 years analysing the ganglion cell layers of Nicolas Cage’s relatives globally, and have built a powerful algorithm to determine the likelihood that a patient is related to the film star.
Ophthalmologists and optometrists have heralded this step forward in eyecare.
“every day when explaining an oct finding to a patient they will interrupt me and say ‘hey that’s all well and good doc, but am i related to nicolas cage or not?’ Now, we’ll be able to tell them”
